Hot Springs International Women's Film Festival 2018The first annual Hot Springs International Women’s Film Festival will be held in the Historic Hot Springs Central Theater, March 17th and 18th, 2018! Don’t miss this exciting, inaugural event!

Women have long been an integral part of the film industry – and not solely as the object of the lens’ adoration. The Hot Springs International Women’s Film Festival (HSWFF) celebrates women as filmmakers and artists in their own right.

Films shown at the HSWFF include at least one woman in a key production position. These positions include producer, director, writer, cinematographer, editor, lead actor, and other key roles. Films primarily about women or including a lead female protagonist may also qualify.

The Hot Springs Arts & Film Institute sees the HSWFF as more than just a film festival. It also hopes to serve as a networking forum and springboard for future, female-led film projects. The hope is that, in highlighting the hardworking women in the film industry, the festival will also encourage more women to work behind the scenes, as well as in front.

Categories for the first annual Hot Springs International Women’s Film Festival will include:

Documentary Short
Documentary Feature
