Stalactites and bottomless lakes await you in Arkansas’ Cosmic Cavern!

There’s nothing quite as intriguing as an opening in the earth leading deep underground. What will you find there? What can you see? Well, at Cosmic Cavern in Berryville, AR, you’ll find out!

Located half-way between Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Branson, Missouri, Cosmic Cavern is one of America’s top “Must See” caves, containing an amazing and surprising underground world of stalactites, stalagmites, bottomless lakes, blind cave trout, and salamanders.

Known to ancient, native Americans, the cavern was rediscovered in 1845 and initially mined for its onyx and other minerals. Ownership of the Cosmic Cavern changed hands more than 14 times until it was purchased by the Langhover family in 1980, who own and operate it as an attraction to this day.

Arkansas is riddled with caves but Cosmic Cavern is advertised as the warmest in the Ozarks with high humidity and a constant 62 degrees.

The guided tour, a 1/3 mile walk lasting an approximate hour and a quarter along a maintained and easy trail, introduces you to many unique and beautiful rock formations or speleothems: stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, sodastraws, helictites, cave bacon, draperies, and the like.

Peer into the mystery of the two subterranean lakes whose bottoms have never been seen, and keep your eyes peeled for the rare and elusive, blind cave salamanders.

Feeling adventurous? Try the Wild Cave Tour and explore parts of the cavern rarely seen and not as easily accessed as the regular tour.

While you’re scrambling in the mud in your hard hat, the less adventurous members of your party can enjoy the Cosmic Cavern gift shop, lunch pavilion, museum, and gemstone panning station where young and old alike can amuse themselves panning for rubies, emeralds, aventurine, sapphires, quartz, and more – finders keepers!
