Marty Stuart, Barrett Baber, The JJ Weeks Band, and more – plus the “world’s sweetest” watermelons – will be at the 37th Annual Cave City Watermelon Festival: August 11th through the 13th, 2016! Will you?
Arkansas’ Cave City gets its name from the cave located in the center of town. The cave has five rooms and encloses the Crystal River, whose source remains unknown. Pottery, arrows, and human skeletons have been found in the cave.
Watermelons are Cave City’s other big claim to fame. “The world’s sweetest,” as a matter of fact!
Known for its watermelons since the early 20th century , by the 1950’s, Cave City was already planting up to 1,000 acres of the luscious, thirst-quenching fruit. The Cave City Watermelon Festival was just a matter of time.
Held every summer, the Cave City Watermelon Festival features live music, a car show, tractor show, a marathon, and many other activities. The festival also includes vendors selling arts and crafts, as well as food and drink. There will be plenty of free watermelon to eat, too. Yum!
The Cave City Watermelon Festival brings in great live music every year. This year’s lineup features three nationally recognized artists, headlining on separate nights.

The JJ Weeks Band is known for their Top 10 single “Let Them See You.†Their music has also been featured in the films “God’s Not Dead†and “Four Blood Moons.â€
