The Johnson County Peach Festival has been an Arkansas tradition since 1938. The best part of such a successful and long running event is the trust it engenders. I mean, after 78 years, you know they’ve got this thing down.
That’s certainly true of Johnson County Peach Festival 2019. The weekend is a veritable cornucopia of activities, entertainments, and attractions.
Peach Festival Events & Attractions
The festival is the site of a lot of good, old time fun. Examples include bed races, a greased pig chase, frog jump, terrapin derby, and a horseshoe pitching tournament, to name but a few.
When’s the last time you witnessed a bed race? Have you ever? Well, come on!
The festival also includes lots of fun peach related events, of course. There’s a peach eating contest, a peach pit spitting contest, a peach cobbler bake-off, and a peach pie eating contest.
Live music at the festival will be provided by The Funk Factory, Trey Johnson & Jason Wilmon, and Johnson County Idol. A street dance is also on the schedule, along with a lip sync contest, and Cinema on the Square. Craft booths, concessions, and games round out the fun.
